A harmonious hybrid between beer and mead, with character clearly from both honey and malt, and possibly hops.

Honey and malt aromas in balance. Hop aroma optional. Clean fermentation.

Pale gold to dark brown depending on malts used. Clear to slightly hazy.

Honey and malt flavors integrated. May show hop bitterness and flavor. Complex.

Medium to full body. High alcohol may add warmth. Often viscous.

Braggot is the oldest recorded alcoholic beverage in Wales, combining honey and malt (and sometimes hops). It bridges beer and mead traditions.
